Jim Marshall - Jazz Photos
« on: March 17, 2017, 08:45:18 AM »
I was really lucky to receive an invite from the Leica City store to attend the opening of the exhibition (at Leica's Mayfair store) which was held last night.

Although I know only a little about Jazz, as a musical genre, I know a bit more about Jim Marshall - but primarily relating to his work photographing rock and roll stars from the 60's and 70's.

The exhibition was held in the gallery space above the Leica store and it didn't disappoint.  It runs from today (17th March) to the 28th March.  If you are anywhere nearby (the nearest Tube stations are Bond Street and Green Park - it's about equidistant, so take your pick) I can recommend it thoroughly.  Some of the "coolest" photos I've seen for a long time... ;)

There's a Jim Marshall "Summer of Love" exhibit at San Francisco City Hall that I was lucky enough to be in town for. It's an excellent exhibit, highly recommended if you're in the Bay Area :)
