Topic: More NYC street

A few weeks ago I decided on the spur of the moment to hop a train into the city to do some street photography. Leonore dropped me at the station on her way to work, and I arrived with the rush hours crowds. Immediately onto the subway to lower Manhattan, I worked my way via a circuitous route back to Grand Central, walking fast and shooting a lot. I was on a train back north before 3pm, with five newly-exposed rolls of HP5+ in my bag. My equipment for the day was the Leica IIIa with the Canon 50/3.5 collapsible screwed to the front and the lovely little SBOOI viewfinder on top. These are a few of the better shots. Enjoy.

Wow! Quite a set. I can't say enough about that first photo. I've seen so many shots of municipal bicycles, but this is a really fresh perspective. Love the angle, the framing, even the bike's shadows are interesting (they look almost like tulips). And speaking of shadows, they really make that third shot. You've gotten some wonderful angles throughout the set. Highline? Love the 5th, 6th and 7th shots as well. You need to make a book.

Thanks, guys. Yes, I was on the Highline for the overhead shots - very useful for that sort of thing. I love shooting at this time of year for the long shadows even around midday.
