On my way back from visiting a friend in Naha, Okinawa, I got to spend some time in Tokyo. Only a few hours. By the time I arrived in Shinjuku station, light was fading fast. I had a blister from walking through rain in Tokyo on my way in, and I sprained my ankle in Okinawa - but the weather was nice and I was determined to go for a walk.

This entrance to yoyogi station was quite quaint, in stark contrast to the station itself. I kept the railway in sight, as I know nothing about navigating Tokyo, and it could always serve as my escape route if I got lost.

I walked a bit further than Harajuku station before turning back. I'd have loved to seen more, but it was getting too dark for photos, shops were closing (I had just enough time to grab a stack of manga that has no hope of being serialized in the U.S.) and I had a flight to catch the next day. I wish I had more time - but I already spent plenty in Okinawa. More on that later.
