Neoprene tubing

A long shot I know but wondered if anyone might be able to identify this and/or know a source. It's a type of rubber tubing that is used in a camera as a light seal instead of the more usual foam. I think it's neoprene but I'm no expert. It's quite soft and stretchy and slightly shiny. It's difficult to stick it to anything. It's about 1.5mm OD and 0.5mm ID. I found some silicone tubing of the same size and tried that but it's too hard and won't give enough.

It could be neoprene, though it tends to be more matte than anything.
Is the hole in the center necessary? Maybe it could be replaced by craft foam or something similar?

I can replace it with just normal foam seals but was trying to keep it original. Or, at least, looking original if possible.

Could you try a bicycle repair shop?  The valve tubes are often brown but perhaps you can find black.

I think a valve tube will be too big...

It needs to be soft enough or flexible enough to distort and 'fill the gaps' when the door closes. It seems like a bicycle inner tube would be the right material, you just might have to cut some thin strips and glue it around a piece of spaghetti or something. Then when the glue is dry, you can soak it in water and squeeze out the softened pasta. That's a lot of work though. Evilbay might be a better route, but this got my DIY gears turning.

I've been searching eBay for a while. I can find tube of the right size but it's the wrong material. Fishermen use a tube for some reason I don't understand that is a perfect fit. Just too hard. Obviously this stuff exists, or used to exist, as it's in the camera now. Thanks for the ideas so far.

I just checked the valve tube in my repair kit, it's 3mm outside diameter but it's probably the right density.  Old fashioned kits always contained two pieces but I can't say I ever used one.

I wonder if it would be possible to make one out of some thick craft foam?
I was thinking cutting a strip with a square profile, drilling a hole in the center for a nail and turning it on and fill with sandpaper to make it round... Or something like that...

But I probably have my dimensions wrong...

looks like they're 1mm bore with a wall thickness around 0.5mm, so the outside diameter may be just a little over your measured sample piece, but should be "squishable"TM enough, and cheap enough to be worth a punt...
