Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Wish I could put something in.. Been printing for the upcoming exhibition but the prints won't fit my scanner (and I have no reasonable digicam to make a snapshot of them..)

A very fine weekend thread. Particular favourites are Charles Binns' market scene, Nigel's third photo and SLVRs shadows on ice.

Mine are from last weekend's Ridgeway walk with PeterR; Leica M7 with Ilford XP2 Super using 28mm / f2.8 Elmarit-M and 50mm f2.0 Summicron-M

Like that Orsay shot!  Here's more HP5 from me--also developed in Rodinal, which it seems to like.  Second shot is some Konica 160 I got in a batch purchase on e*ay--could it be Fuji?  Both Yashica 44, home rolled and souped.

Really liking Hookstrapped's and Terry's photos this week. Here is my effort. A self portrait taken on Fomapan 200 pushed to 800. It's all promotional material for my band The Wingless Heron's latest album This Burning Ground.

Two shots from last weekend, we reached this spot after about an hours walk in the wilderness. The ice had a lovely greenish hue, and my camera was loaded with B&W.......... :(

I come from Essex. I'd say the stereotypical Essex accent wouldn't make much sound any good at all. Luckily lots of us don't speak like it. :)

I live in Essex (Braintree) and have done for the last 16 years - but I'm originally from just south of Manchester.  When I listened to the link you posted, the first thought that struck me is that you don't have the typical estuarine Essex / East End accent.  For your style of poetry / music, I couldn't imagine working anywhere near so well.

Nice selfie, BTW....

I think a strong Essex accent would just sound weird. Poets who do have one tend to do a really different type of poetry. In my experience anyway.

Agreed.  I'm all in favour of local dialects, mind you.  When I was a lad, we had John Cooper-Clarke as our local bard.  No-one could mistake he was from Salford / Manchester and his poetry was VERY different  :o

I think you're greatly overestimating an American's ability to distinguish between regional English dialects :D I can mostly tell the difference between a cockney and northern accent, but that's probably it  :o

He's a bit of a legend in Colchester. I've never seen him perform live but I've heard a million impressions from friends. I gather that is nearly the same as seeing him nowadays.

Indeed.  I remember Jilted John well.  Shuttleworth's attempt to sell his song "pigeons in flight" to Norway for the Eurovision song contest is pure comedy gold.
