Bulk loading help in London
« on: May 17, 2016, 10:43:10 AM »
Hello chaps

I'm new to this board but want to get involved.

After a long break I'm back into film and want to shoot more. With that in mind, bulk loading seems like a good idea. Are there any London people on here who'd be willing to show me the ropes?

Also, I have a Pakon scanner, so by way of a skills swop, I'm happy to scan negs as an exchange of time/ expertise.

I'm in Hackney, well Stoke Newington really.

Yours hopefully,

SY

Hi

I do bulk loading and I'm in London.
It isn't difficult. It depends more on the bulk loader you have.
I use a Watson and a Computrol.
They are similar, but the Watson is easier to load the bulk film.
All you need is a dark bag, a bulk loader, cassettes, scissors and some selo tape.
I use mostly Fomapan and Kentmere films.
The Foma distributor is with Process Supplies in Mount Pleasant, just off Rosebery Avenue.
Not that far from you.
One thing you are going to need with Foma bulk films is a 1in core as those films come in a 2in core.
1in core is standard with Kentmere and Ilford films.
I can give you one if you need it.
