As far as I know, I don't remember being aware of any photography related TV shows from the pre-youtube era.
But it seems they existed, proof is this 35 year old series that has been completely published in its entirety on the famous video site.

On Swedish equivalent of BBC they had a program last year, think it translated something like "we are all photographers".
They had a theme for each show - eg. portrait, action, documentary etc. where one of the guys was analog, the other digital. iPhone vs. Rolleiflex and dslr vs. 4x5. No subtitles though.

anyone notice how that black cloth threw the meter? Sounded like 1/30 or 1/15th! with a 100mm that sounds like fail to me!

He probably was just on auto. That would just send the meter bunkers!

If he had taken an incident meter, he wouldn't have had any problems.
