with type 665 getting to be so expensive on auction sites, I've been looking at mods that are full frame coverage. I've been (slowly) working on modifying a leonardo 4x5 that's almost ready. The initial mod (just attaching the lens gave me only a very small area of coverage on the film. Good - lesson learned. Second adjustment was making a more 'proper' sized lens board opening and the result was about 60 - 65% coverage. Clser but not what I wanted.
Now I just have to make one more adjustment, I believe, to get full frame and it will be good to go with both the 4x5 pola back and 4x5 sheet film holders.
The shots from thus far have somewhat of an f64 look... While I'm not technically astute enough to gauge this, I'm guessing with the leoanardo body plus the diana barrel and lens magnification, the lens has an equivalence of maybe 110mm. I'm sure others will differ on that but that's not so important to me. The lens barrel and lens magnification is pretty close to the 3-6, 6-12, and 12 - infinity of the focal plane of the diana lens. That's what matters.
I hope to finish this off this week and will post some results next weekend as well as a shot of the final mod!! This snap was from the initial mod of simply attaching the lens over the leonardo lens board.
