I guess it was these guys that sent out those messages on apug around christmas or whenever that was? I like that they're trying to ramp up the effective iso of the paper

saw this note now within their latest news post:

"in a couple of months we will need some pinhole and large format photographers for pre-production tests. If you would like to participate or contribute some other way, whether by spreading a good word or offering your ideas, please feel free to contact us. We will be very glad to hear from you!"

I'm all ears and would love it if it had a higher ISO.

The Harman paper is good stuff, but it is a tough one to use for my Moon project I've been doing for the past 2 years.
Plus my stash is low.

A higher ISO is a game changer for me!

We would like to thank all of you for your support! That’s amazing what the internet can do uniting people from all over the world

Our Kickstarter campaign is getting approved at the moment (it may take about a week). And as soon as we get a green light we’ll launch it.

Speaking of the paper, its speed is definitely the highest one ever, about 280-320 paper ISO (corresponds to negative film ISO 32-64). This is not a direct positive paper, it’s a reversal process. But the chemicals are well known among photographers. However, we are planning to produce our own line of pre-mixed chemicals to make a lab work easier. We tweaked the process with intention to make it more user-friendly. Now you don’t need to flash expose the image second time and development is performed with the room-temperature solutions.

I'm quoting this because I've been responsible for spreading disinformation on other photo forums. I had understood this new paper to be a direct positive paper, but now it sounds like it's a fast negative paper intended to be used for reversal processing with reversal chemicals.

Interested in this, but I'm curious about the developer. Besides the proprietary developer, will you be doing any testing with other developers? If necessary, I'd be willing to trade some speed for the ability to use my standard developer (Caffenol).

There is a reversal process with caffenol and we are planning to experiment with it in one - two month.
Our paper can be processed with any classic REVERSAL TECHNIQUE which has been well-known for many years. We are trying to adjust and improve it, but formulas are not a secret. Components can be easily acquired in any store that sells black & white photographic processing chemistry.
However, the combination of the chemicals in our kits will represent the result of long experiments and research that was intended to get the best of our paper. So if you want to get great results right away, feel free to get our kit, but if you have more of a “mad scientist” mindset – you are more than welcome to experiment with the chemistry.
Also, every pack of photo paper that we sell through Kickstarter comes with detailed instructions on how to process it.

I'm very interested in this paper but I've never used a direct positive paper previously. Am I assuming that a darkroom is essential - i.e. presumably it can't be processed in a 5x4 Paterson film tank??

If a darkroom is required that counts me out as I have nowhere to put one.

Theoretically, it's posssoble. We haven't done it ourselves yet. But most likely we are going to test it next month.
