And I guess I won't be cutting mine up in the end!
I still have one on the shelf and was debating whether I should take it apart to use the optics into something else... but something in my mind prevented me from doing so. Now I know why :)

Thanks.
Francois

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

The Swinger was the first camera that I ever had, my father would load it for me as I was too young to figure out how. When I ran into one at a thrift store a few years ago for a quarter I swooped it up.

My dad had one of these (which he said was mine) but, strangely, he always wanted to be there when I was using it.  I guess I was only about 10 (1971) so my guess is that it was down to the cost of the film and my innate clumsiness.

I loved using it as I got to see the end result in a minute or two.  It only shot B&W, as I recall, so I put down my love of B&W as at least partly to do with this camera.  I wish the film was still available - but I could say the same about Kodachrome........ :(

I have one of these somewhere collecting dust. If I can find it anyone can have it for postage.

The Big Swinger takes pack film but I haven't seen anything about converting the original Swinger. Interesting article (and I wonder what possessed someone at the NY Times to write it).
