J Brunner's brilliant, hilarious videos...
« on: May 30, 2014, 04:43:53 PM »
I loved this guy and now his videos are all missing from You Tube.  I was trying to show my sister how you can determine focal length and aperture of an old lens using cheetos.  (Naturally, you could use anything - but he used cheetos).  He made everything so simple!  Is anyone else familiar with J Brunner and his large format photography videos? I'm wondering if he just pulled them and put up his own site.

Perhaps the insidious nature of having to tie a Google account to YouTube or some other privacy issue prompted him to pull.  I've tried searching for him.  I vaguely recall him coming up on either apug or LF forums... Bummer - I wanted to show my sister how easy it is to determine the focal length and f/stops of an old lens.    :-\

I remember the large format Photography trailer. The one where he sneezes on the groundglass.
They should be put back on. They are world heritage  ;D
Kind regards

The last time it was archived was in June last year.
After that, the crawler got an expired website page

This is a true shame. I learned to develop film from his videos. He really made me laugh. Hope they resurface somewhere.

That's pretty much why I save so much stuff I feel is important or inspiring on Youtube.
I use DownloadHelper for Firefox. Not the easiest to use but definitely the one that's compatible with the most sites.
I also use http://www.clipconverter.cc/ for the videos I don't have access to.
