52 Rolls Week #01
« on: January 07, 2014, 03:52:25 PM »
Don't worry, I'm not going to post one of these every week this year, but as it is my first time participating at 52rolls.net I thought I'd pop some of week #01 up.

I used the Exa 1A, taking a whole 36 exposure roll of Ilford HP5 and then using a Jobo 2100/2400 tank for the first time. That's the one where you put the film canister in it and it winds it on to the spool for you. Nice and easy. Except it wasn't, it only unwound about three inches and I lost everything. I'm not sure what went wrong exactly, well, I am, just not how it went wrong. I then had to go out and shoot another roll, Exa 1A again and Ilford hP5, but 24 exposures this time as I didn't have long to finish the roll. I used my old tank this time, winding onto the spool in a dark bag.

They were all taken over two rainy, overcast, days. 1/30 for the majority, developed in ilfosol3 for 11 minutes at 20 degrees. Scanned, no post processing.

I have never found 35mm daylight loading tanks very successful; the normal spiral tanks always work well for me.
