It's a touch early here on the left coast, but most of the rest of you are soundly into Friday, so here goes. Dedicated to my sweetie who is out of town for 10 days. :-\

I put a new mirror in my Reflekta and tried it out - but I guess the shutter is fast.

The focus checks out fine which was more what I was concerned about after fiddling with the mirror. Forgive the quality here as I don't have a scanner that works with 120 and had to invent my own light table to copy these.

got a new lens, old brassy - taken it apart, looks like a modified Petzval, Jamin of Paris - must be late 1850s
it doesn't cover 4x5, so was probably quarter plate, or carte de visite
its a bit bonkers with a very curved focal plane, you can get the centre in focus, or the periphery in focus, but not both at the same time, its a portait lens really, but had to see what it could do on Wednesday

Another from recent wanderings about the Hudson Valley. Rolleiflex Standard on Kodak Ektar. I'm still impressed by what this old thing can produce, particularly given how ratty it looks; shooting an uncoated Tessar without a hood more or less straight into the sun shouldn't really work at all, let alone work reasonably well.

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Love that shot of Hudson Valley.

I just have a snapshot I just  found again of a Llama taking a sunbath taken during summer last year. Made me laugh when I saw this at the zoo.
At first I thought something was wrong with it, but it was just enjoying the sun.

Between work and some xmas projects I have not had time to shoot. But one of my xmas projects is film-related. I am putting together a book of BW pics of the kids, so I am looking at all my old stuff. I don't normally post old photos, but as I am working with them currently, I think that gives me an excuse  ::) BTW, while an 'old photo' it is not as old as it looks. It is <15 years ago. He always is dressed in these pics like he is from the 1940's. Maybe he was a proto-hipster back then (Hungry Mike don't tell him I called him that haha).

I remember when it happened. Hiking on a trail and my son did what anyone could do that could climb into a hole in a tree... he climbed into it.

Donkey Dave and O2 Pilot - lovely.

A very old one from me -  haven't been able to shoot much recently.  Lago Chungara in the Lauca National Park in Chile.  Lago Chungara is the highest freshwater lake in the world and was packed full of flamingos.

Photo Utopia, those portraits are looking great.

Last week I went to a shepherd dog contest. I shot few times and I thought being unobtrusive, but it was clearly not the case, at least I have not lost the ¨nerve  ::)

An alternate for the recent collaboration...took the original shots in 1988, made the lithos in 1990. Pretty sure I originally made the lithos looking for something to turn into silkscreens.

Ok my first weekend post so please be gentle:

Pen FT, 40mm 1.4f shot with expired Neopan 1600 pushed in Xtol to 6400.

McDuff: That is one of my favourites. We weirdly have a similar problem with Seb, partly our doing and partly his, that he always seems to be wearing clothes or combinations of clothes out of time. And your kids know that it is their parents that are the hipsters!

I found an old film (partially used too it seems) from about 1991, loaded it into my old Ricoh Auto Half, and gave it to a digerati friend and he made this:

'Wow', he said. 'What sort of film camera do I have to buy now?', he asked. There's hope yet! Skj.

flippy: nice work on fixing that camera! what film were you using btw? I like the colours~

skorj: talking about colours... yum!

jharr: that is a hell of an opening shot for the weekend thread!

Fluminian: I am really digging the shadows and angles in all your shots.

Photo_Utopia: Talk about detail! I can't even see my own pores that clearly.

Here's my contribution for this weekend. Lubitel 166B with Pan F. More underexposed than I expected, and I messed up during developing a bit because it took me 10 solid minutes to get the  #)^Y&$* film into the reel and there were some fingerprints and spotting and unevenness.

But I still got some shots that I like.

Here's one from Whitstable this afternoon at low tide (2 days after springs).  During the surge on Thursday evening's high tide, the sea came over the top of the harbour apparently. Fortunately no damage done.
