Amy's been waking up earlier and earlier recently because of the summer sunshine that finds a way of creeping into her room no matter how hard we try to block it out.

Amy likes snails...a lot. She likes to pick them up from her favourite bush and take them across the garden to a blue rubber floor tile next to the hose pipe outlet. She does this a few times and then she goes inside to watch 'Babe' on DVD. Amy has a pair of very cute red wellington boots.

[Shot at 6.45 on Sunday morning to keep Dad awake. Dedicated to Cameron in Aus because I'm sure he's resorted to wielding a Polaroid to stave off exhaustion. "Sure it's 6.45 on a Sunday morning and I'm awake, but I have a camera in my hand. I am a true artist. I laugh in the face of 3 hours sleep."  ]

You are right, I have resorted to the polaroid-wielding method of awakeness in the past...mind you, rarely are my results as pleasing as this snail hunt story. Great narrative piece and I absolutely love those gum-boots too, I wonder if I can find some in my size?

(one last note ~ make sure that if you are using a 600 SE when staving off exhaustion that you really do stay awake and not lose your grip on it, otherwise you might break your foot if it drops...I think skorj mentioned somewhere once that it was heavy)

Most entertaining and touching.
I laughed. I cried. Wonderful to see Amy hasn't changed in the past two years.
Amazing that she still has the exact same face -- only with longer hair and way cuter boots!

You should stay up this late more often. Oh, wait. You will have to without choice in a matter of weeks!

I dont know if this was just a Kent thing, but in the mid 80's, when I was at school, there was a strange poster ad campaign in Bus Shelters/ Stops at the side of the road.  A mass of posters that simply said

"my name is Amy and I like Slugs and Snails"

appeared all over the place overnight and stayed up for about a month, then disappeared as suddenly.  I assumed it was some marketing company counting public enquiries about the posters to judge how observant we are ... but perhaps it was some kind of matrix-like message telling me of the future to come.  Perhaps Amy's love of snails has some hugely significant portend?

I have a collection of very large Hostas....snails and slugs love them and I spend most of my waking hours keeping them free of the little blighters. Do you rent Amy out by the hour? They are at their most vulnerable in the early hours they seem made for each other. I'm sure I can remember the drill with small children even though it's been over 25 years. I assume the same stuff comes out of the same places?

(Seems there's a glut of expired 125i about - Sean, Cam, Ed, me. Wot we gunna do when it runs out? How do we age the stuff to get these nice results?)

it's getting tougher to get expired on ebay for a decent price. idiot that i am, someone had 60 shots of 669 for but it for 'buy it now' at 36 bucks, but i decided to bid lower, and all the watchers immediately bid it up to 50 bucks. just 6 months ago i could get 107 for like 3 bucks, now it'll go for 20. i can't even imagine using expired sx-70. i don't know how there can be so many users when it regularly goes for like $50 for one pack. and all the shots i see are people taking pictures of themselves in mirrors. prices seem to be lower on ebay.uk, but the shipping is twice as much...
nice series, too! they don't make 125i here, but there seems to be tons of it from european sellers.

This is one of the most delightful things I've seen in a long time - photographic or otherwise. (And when I use the word 'delightful' I realise I'm turning into my mother.)

It would make a fantastic book for children of Amy's age.

These are just TOO grand...and the missy makes such a fine story and brilliant photographs. Almost like these were torn out of a childrens book. Now that is a thought. Isn't that escargot? I think you should do these more often...
