Travels in a narrowboat
« on: December 20, 2013, 08:27:06 PM »
Having now retired we are spending our summers travelling the canals and rivers of England and Wales on our narrowboat "The Hodmadod" and here's a selection of photographs from this years journey. These were all taken on my Bronica Etrsi. All B & W were shot on HP5 and the colour on Fuji Superia400.

well this is an auspicious start to your participation at Filmwasters
posting some interesting photos

I enjoy the international flavour of this site, being exposed to posts such as yours
being from Canada we can only dream about how you spend your retirement summers
I have often said to my wife that we should do some sort of barging holiday somewhere on the canals of Europe
of course savouring the wines of France is usually the first option that comes to mind
I envy you…

and welcome to FW

Thanks Frank

Cant recommend being on a narrowboat highly enough, a totally different way of life - Life in the slow lane as the stickers say! If you are interested in a bit more detail I did a blog of  our summer here: http://thehodmadod.blogspot.co.uk/ All photos d*****l I'm afraid. Last year I did take my developing kit and scanner so I could view the photos I was taking during the trip but this year was a bit fragmented and I didn't have room when packing the car for all the gear!

Great shots, hoddy.  I like the first one the most although I'm known for my love for boats.  :)

Welcome hoddy!

lovely intro. life in the slow lane sounds great.
I have watched numerous documentaries on canal boats and lifestyle it does
seem like a really peaceful and enjoyable pastime.

on a seperate but slightly related theme, I always dream about
those "house Boats" in Amsterdam/Holland, would absolutely
love to live on one sometime . . . :)

Beautiful set of pictures. Wasting film is also part of life in the slow lane.
