rainy days
« on: October 06, 2013, 11:28:08 PM »
Weekend is over here since 17 minutes. Anyway, additional picture posts could be welcome as mentioned in the weekend rules thread.

I was given an old Agfa Isolette folder with uncoated 4.5/85 Apotar lens and it needed some lens cleaning. The shutter already was serviced. After the cleaning I loaded a Rollei Superpan200 film, exposed for EI 100 and developed the film in Rodinal 1:50, 17 minutes at 18 °C. Exposure was a guessed 1/25 at f/8. The bellows has an ugly pinhole and a the camera has a serious problem with film flatness, both not noticeable in the posted pics. But for sure my last Agfa folder. I already slaughtered an Agfa Record II some years ago for similar problems, and the crappy bellows are well known. No, I don't want to repair the bellows, the Agfas simply don't deserve it imho. There are so many folding cams up to 100 years old that still have perfect bellows today. Anyway, the camera doesn't make the image and I like these 2 here. Scanned from neg and some level adjust in post.

Fantastic shots, Reinhold. I'm always surprised how good are the lenses on these old folders.

VERY nice images. And lovely use of a nice old camera.

can't do that here. It doesn't rain much. Well, not every day. Not all day every day anyway :-(

West Highlands, the Isles? No rain? Tongue in cheek surely. The one reason my dad left Fort William for the south of France ;)

Beautiful shots Reinhold. Every shot you or Volker show make me we want to move back to Heidelberg. And the houses aren't that expensive either (at least compared to the crazy prices around Munich).
