Topic: Bronica Polaroid back - anybody use one?

Does anybody have any experience with a polaroid back for a Bronica ETRS? I know the image is smaller than the film but that's about all I know. I was thinking of buying one but they are a bit expensive so want to be sure it's worthwhile.

I use one for the Bronica S2A....in fact I almost never use anything else. Not the same camera as the ETRS (obviously), but I'm sure the back works exactly the same way. These things tend to be expensive unfortunately, but as long as you can live with all the wasted film (pun intended) on each shot then I say go for it. Personally, I've not looked back.

I have one for my SQ-B (cheaper version of the 6x6 SQ-Ai) - bought several years ago for I can't remember how much. With this camera you lose the interlock mechanism with the dark slide (i.e. you can 'expose' with the dark slide in place) and I think you have to set the camera to multiple exposure mode too. It also hangs below the camera making tripod mounting a bit awkward (the ball head from my Uni-loc 1700 is OK though). I haven't tried getting film for it recently though (don't even know which film it uses either!).

I don't use it often but wouldn't be without it.

Thanks both. I think I will get one, but will wait until I find one at a reasonable price. Some of them are priced at £75, which is way too much for me for this. One will turn up at £20 or so if I'm patient.

Almost got this one but was outbid at the last second, it has the tripod adapter as well

I have a SQ Polaroid back that I never use if someone wants to make me an offer? The only fly in the ointment is that it doesn't have a set of rollers... the intention was to keep swapping the rollers from my 405 back if I ever got round to using it.

I'll take a pic of it and post it in the for sale section.

Rollers do pop up on ebay now and then. If not try Tony Sansone, he has an awful lot of Polaroid (and Mamiya press) knowledge and parts. The back is a regular CB100/101/103 type. They all are more or less. The adapter plate and mask are what differentiate them between the different interchangeable back medium format cameras. 645 however is going to waste an awful lot of the film area.

The ETRS that I bought not too long ago came with one, with a pack of film still loaded in it.

I wouldn't buy one without a really specific reason, to be honest, because you _do_ waste a huge amount of space (see attached). It's smaller than an Instax picture.

One of these popped up in the give and recieve thread we had a while back. I got the one for my SQ-A from there. Since then Ive stumbled on a bunch of these old pola backs and no one seems to want them.
