Anyone use battery mrb400?
« on: February 24, 2014, 03:41:41 PM »
How do you check the battery's remaining power when most checkers use 1.5v as the standard? Or how often do you change the battery on your old camera? (My camera is the Pentax SP500.)

To make this clear for everyone, you're talking about the Weincell PX400 / EPX400 / RM400 / H-B / V400PX / E400N / PM400R / KX400 / T400N replacement?
These are 1.35v batteries that replace mercury cells.

These batteries die of sudden death so no worries there. If the meter works, it's most probably fine.
Doesn't the SP500 have a battery check button?

No, it does not. So you need to use the stop-down/meter button to see if needle moves. My Wein cell has been in the camera for two or more years and still works.

Jojonas~ I use one almost exactly like that one but it is yellow and it has a place for button cells on the bottom? It is great.
yes that is the battery Francois. Like Ezzie wrote there is no way to check except fur the meter moving.
Thanks Ezzie. I have had one in one camera for very long time. In the next outing it will probably get a new one. :)

Thank you all for your input.
