Topic: For UK filmwasters: Ag Photographic's new lab (C41, E6, B/W)

Always encouraging to hear of that a lab is opening not closing!  I had read this on a Large format forum and in case others haven't heard:  Apparently Ag Photographic just opened a new processing lab for C41, E6 and black and white.

Seems to be a tie up with Metro (Peter Gaffney) rather than a new lab, but the prices are cheaper than sending direct to Metro, at least, the process only prices I checked are. I've used Metro in the past and happy to use them again so will definitely give this a go.

This is good timing - I'm sending my holiday colour rolls (3xC41, 2xE6, all 35mm) to them, for dev only. I like the fact that they offer a freepost label to send them off, too. E6 is a little more expensive than Genie, who I normally use, but in a batch that's not so much of an issue.

I was a customer of Metro, and I've now used the Ag lab a couple of times, the things they both have in common I.M.O that both their C41 and E6 work is excellent, some of the  cleanest I've ever seen  with no dirt scratches or drying marks on the negs. or slides and at very reasonable prices, however the big improvement with Ag Photographic has been the turn round time, the last C41 order I sent to Metro was about two weeks, the one I sent to Ag recently was three days from posting to it's return,
I can highly recommend Ag.

I was pleased with the results I got from the rolls I sent (as mentioned above) so I'll be sending my next lot off to them as well, including some 120 this time.

Just stumbled on this post, yea it's fantastic news to have a new lab to choose from!

I've been using Peak Imaging for all my processing for the past few years. Does anyone got experience with both of them? It'd be interesting to see how they compare in terms of turnaround time and quality.

I wish they process 5x4 as well...

As a note, I sent them an email recently asking whether they did push, pull and/or cross processing, and the answer was

sure - just mark it on the film. I will get around to putting
an option on the website at some point..!
