So I was chatting to Ed at the photograpgy fair and told him I was keeping an eye out for a 6x9 yo do some playing around with, he said he had one that needed a new home and to call him if I was interested.

Well some wheeling and dealing later and a bit of vagu mindedness on my part landed me with a Moskva 5 the last word in sexy 6x9 cameras!

Hi Ken! Thanks for posting some of your early results. I'm not sure I put any colour film through the Moskva...pretty sure I stuck to b/w. I hope you'll get on with the camera. Having a 6x9 folder (convertible to 6x6 if required) IS pretty cool, but it's not a quick-off-the-mark shooter (as I'm sure you've discovered) and it takes a little time to get used to the focussing mechanism - not to mention the fact that the 'Go!' button is located on the other side of the camera from where you think it should be

I'm really liking that crackington shot, ed! the upside down fiver adds a bit of a surreal feel too ofcourse

Thanks guys, yer Ed a bit of a headspace camera, I have had to start thinking Russian instead of German ( as in my Zeiss folding 6x6)

Anyway on on as they say, the first foray out of town after I had transitioned from trial camera to full ownership was to Llandovery in Wales (for the non-Welsh speaking members it is pronounced Clandovery) The town it in the west Brecon Beacons and I was there for the annual UK VStrom get together.

You can see I only remember Ed's directions about closing the film indicator window, every other shot instead of every shot - DOH!

So as you can see I am starting to get used to the format, there are some B&W shots that need to be processed along with 12 other rolls of B&W

I have a bunch of stuff from Spain and France shot on Provia 100 but will start a new thread

If the red window is not dark enough, you can probably simply add a piece of lighting gel (think lee sample pack) behind the pressure plate and hold it with two pieces of tape.

Great to see more work from it, Ken. I think it's a great camera once you get used to it - and of course the 'pixels-per-pennce' ratio is very attractive given that it folds down pretty small....for a 6x9!

Ed, I have to agree, I am using it more so getting used to working with its ratio and set up.

Did you know I bought a army styled case for it to make it easier to cart around walking trails?

Nope. Didn't know that, but it sounds good. The original case was in excellent condition, but it was a bit bulky.

The original case is in excellent condition but not good for a whole day of trekking about so I got on of these Kens new bag!, I can fit the camera, some film a light meter and some bits into it quite comfortably

I know the bags with padded compartments will fit a sub quite nicely. The only problem is when you're distracted and you try and fit it on the camera; you get coleslaw all over the mirror
