Help with a project
« on: October 12, 2012, 07:45:43 PM »
I am wondering if someone here would be kind enough to review a project I have been undertaking for the last year or so and which I have now finished. The idea would be to produce a body of work which I may self publish as a book.

I would like someone to review the collection of images I have produced and help me whittle them down to a cohesive set of images.  I'd also appreciate a critique of the artists statement and some advice as to the design and lay out of the book.

This is my first attempt at producing a series so I'm abit nervous and in need of some guidance.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

Thank you.

Why not put it up in the photo essay's board and let us all chip in?

Could do - but there's alot of photos at the moment (about 50).  Also, I think that too many opinions might get confusing.

Ah! You are probably right.  Still might be worth considering once you've whittled them down.

I would be willing to assist if you don't get any better offers.

Mike, Alan.  Thank you to both of you.  The project title is The Olympic Village and it is a series of multi exposure images shot in the run up to and during the London Olympics & Paralympics.  If you are still interested I'll pm you the link to the flickr page etc.

Hi Charles

Apart from a couple of my own Blurb books I've just designed a 96 page book of photographs which we are going to have commercially printed and published. The task which took the longest was going through nearly 250 images from five different photographers to then create a cohesive story. I'm quite happy to give you some hints and tips on the best way to go about it.
