RA-4 success story
« on: September 17, 2012, 08:26:25 PM »
Some time back I posted a question about processing Oriental black & white paper especially for processing with color chemicals..well I had a lot of great advice and decided I should just go ahead and try it so today was finally the day! The subject matter isn't impressive but I very much like the results of the paper and chemistry. I processed the paper in some small plastic  containers about 6 x 8 in my darkroom/bathroom and used my ipod with very low light as my timer....I used a 4x5 pinhole camera with rating the paper at 6.

Pretty sweet results there Diane.
I'm happy to see that paper being put to good use.

Oh, forgot to ask, did you use the color chems at the recommended temperature?
Just curious.

Becky!! was going to send you a pm but figured you would see this!! I used the chemicals at 90. f...thinking developing time was 1 min 10 seconds and then the Blix for 60 seconds..on the first image ( the one above) my timer fell so I had to fake it!! But must have been pretty close! On the second image (below) was right on...I figured keeping the developing time at 1 minute or so would keep the temperatures pretty consistent!  I called the store that gave me the paper yesterday and they have a bunch more for me, so hopefully I can bring you a box!! I am very happy with the contrast in this paper.  Now I am going to get the color paper that uses the same chemicals..that should be interesting!
