Processing and Developing Injuries
« on: May 15, 2012, 10:33:32 PM »
I'll admit. This is a bit odd. But, I believe I have developed an injury from processing. Possibly from agitating the tanks.
At first I thought it was a strain from climbing, but I couldn't pinpoint to a specific incident.

Processed 6 rolls of 120 this evening and now I'm in agony. Just inside my elbow, at the bicep attachment.

Just wondering if any of the mods have a 'fitness for film' DVD I can use to get myself fit??  ;D

sounds painful  :( RSI through developing? Never heard of that!

Perhaps we need to do as you say - a warm up video for optimum agitation fitness  ;D

I'd try stand development in Rodinal, makes my feet ache though  ;D
There's more to this photography thing than meets the eye.

Are you sure you weren't imitating Tom Cruise in Cocktail?

Sounds like tendonitis - I used to get it when playing golf. Very painful. I used to use hot and cold compresses to take the sting out of it.

Now I know I should do my stretching exercises before the next roll of film ;)
I've heard of tennis elbow... but I think a tank shaking elbow is a first...

Maybe getting a bracelet from the drugstore would help with the sting. Just make sure you follow the instructions.
Though I'm no doctor on the matter......

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

12 rolls in one week.... Way more than I'm used to!

It's suffering one way or another!

Hard not to! ;)

I think the rest of you are right, mild inflammation of the tendon, though I think 'golfers' rather than tennis. A bit of rest and I'll be grand.

Merlot. That's seems helpful too!

Now, Leon. About that DVD... What size leotard will you be needing?

I've found my leg warmers and have the video in production as we speak ;D Jan reckons the shorts are likely to get me arrested or sectioned!
