Anyone own a Mamiya 645 Super?
« on: May 06, 2012, 05:21:27 PM »
If so, I owndered if you could take a picture of part of the camera for me. I'm trying to fix one and I can't figure out how the spring on the mirror stop goes back.

Thanks Becks. I had seen that one but he had the same problem and the spring is out of place.

Mine is the 645 Pro. I believe they are a bit different.

Hi Lund,

I think the part I'm interested in is probably the same. Is it possible you could take a picture of the mirror stop for me?

Hope somebody's quick as I'm starting to notice more digital images from Peter on his Flickr stream and we don't want that do we!?  ;)

I figured this was the part. I cannot see how it sits underneath the wheel though. It starts somewhere in, hidden under a panel. From the spring movement I would guess at about 1 cm or so, but it's very hard to tell.

Thanks Alan but it's actually the other side that the stop is on, bottom right looking from the front. But the spring you've shown is different to mine so they obviously made some changes during it's life, so the mirror stop may be different as well.

Thanks again anyway.

Just a blip in the infinitude of film Paul. Nothing to worry about.

The end of the spring is just hooked at the side of the matte black side panel. The other end at the lower side of the screw seems to be fastened in a similar manner. Just above the smaller screw pointing inside of the camera. I guess it's there for adjusting the stop of the mirror.

Didn't even see it at first. Dark as a darkroom in here.

Thanks Lund. That's perfect. And solves the mystery - I'm missing a bit. I don't have the screw adjustment and closer inspection now shows the arm is broken. No wonder I couldn't figure out how to put it back together.

I just aquired the camera so I think it will be going back. Thanks for everyone's efforts.
