Pavement Board Game
« on: February 25, 2012, 11:03:59 AM »
I have never been one to dredge my negative archives in the hope of finding a "gem". However, whilst recently doing some spring cleaning, I came across a set of negs which I never printed at the time.

I was hooked on street photography, when it was still safe to roam around with a camera, and captured a series of city folk enjoying a pavement board game. Looking at them 30 years later, memories came flooding back.
Captured with a Leica M4 and 50mm Summicron on Kodak Tri-X developed in HC110. Hope you enjoy!

Regards,

Lawrie.

Excellent photos and they make a wonderful series.  If they were mine I'd print them and frame them side by side.

I agree these are excellent.

Are they playing a form of checkers or draughts?

I wonder why you didn't appreciate them first time round.

Very nice, Lawrie. Proof if indeed it was needed that revisiting old negatives is a good thing!

Thank you for all the kind comments!

   - Happyforest  -  The game is similar to Draughts. Although I never printed them before, I felt the set of three images worked quite well as a series.

Regards,

Lawrie.
