ricoh r1
« on: November 26, 2011, 08:57:05 AM »
Two weeks ago I bought Ricoh R1 as faulty. It didn't work i went to Wokesong camera market here in Beijing and they repair for me.Summary I paid 15 pounds. Lcd and viewfinder not working properly , I cannot see frame numbers and focus in viewfinder.

First thing which I done was modify panorama mode, all picture taken with f8 lens.
I use lucky 100 film  ( which terrible ) in hc-110. 13 min 1:63 20 C

Hi Daimand - Many of us here have the R1 - they're amazing value aren't they? really great cameras.

I did a review here: http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=1091.0

leon taylor : checking Your review was first thing which i had when bought this baby:). I need to say it was very helpful to understand how this working and also give me idea how to modify panorama.
Thanks for review.
How I wrote i have no information about focus in viewfinder and really but may change modes , infinity focus , spot focus and normal. I also can change flash but I am only seeing Eye symbol.

I need to say that I really like this camera just snap a picture.
I have one question all my pictures come out quite soft and I don't know is because lens or just lucky film and hc-110 combo?

It's probably the lens... don't forget that by removing the panorama mask, you're pushing the optical quality way beyond what was intended in the first place.
Francois

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

I think it must be this particular lens ... or a scanning issue? My modified R1 shots are nice and sharp:

Skorj : thanks :)

Francois , leon taylor : I am scanning with my camera as always and each picture is on f 22 but  film isn't that flat as 120 film so it may be the reason.

Leon great pictures and yeh your lens is nice sharp :)
