The Holga 120 PAN
« on: November 05, 2011, 06:34:15 PM »
Just saw that there's a new Holga out: http://shop.holgadirect.com/products/holga-120-pan-panorama-camera

It looks like a Holga WPC with a finder and a lens (optical, no less!) attached. Not sure what to expect from this beast as I couldn't find any sample shots. I do like panoramas, though.

Well, you need two flashes to light your landscapes, right?

That'll be for club scene interiors, I'll bet.   ;D

Ninety dollars????that's sixty quid (I think).  Not that I'm tight fisted or anything but it's only made out of plastic.

I'll have to tell Mrs B that my Christmas wouldn't be complete without one.

Sadly not... just imagine one of those on each side of the camera :)
I checked the aperture wheel on it and you can light something at 65 feet at f/4... just imagine two :)

One thing's for sure, I won't be standing in a puddle of water when I use it!

nice~ I think I saw one on flickr that had made a mod that looked a lot like that out of a holga wpc, an extra box and a lf lens.

but that's too sharp ;P haha! hm.. that lens will roughly translate to 28mm, right? it'd be quite a party camera with two flashes (different colours anyone?)

hmmm. This is interesting.

Do ya think the lens would nearly-almost-maybe cover 5x4? Or for that matter type 100 packfilm?

hope to see some example shots from it soon~
but it SHOULD give something on your 5x4, just a matter of how bold that holga will vinjette for ya ;D

maybe if enough people mod their cameras, they'll make one with an instant back :o

francois: yeah, but I think you need to gut your standard holga a bit to cover the whole film.

you won't ever get full frame on a polaroid with a regular holga lens. that's why the vignette is so heavy even with 120 film...it barely covers that area!

wonder if i could just get a 90mm holga lens.

i'm actually curious whether it even looks like a holga lens. it is obviously different with such a long focal length.

Better than expected, although they're quite low res.

I was only able to see the three shots when I joined the group. Don't know why.

interesting...they don't really look like holga shots, but they certainly don't look bad. seems to be a somewhat wider angle. not a bad price for a pano 120 camera, really. may have to pick one up.

6 x 12 is it?

i could knock some use from this for sure
but it is a bit pricey for a plastic camera . . .
