fuji x ray super rx and hc-110
« on: November 08, 2011, 04:30:37 PM »
Today i shoot some pictures on fuji super rx x ray film i rated on iso 100 i try to develop in hc-100 ( 1:63 ) under red light . Its not special photographic light ,just red 15 watt light-ball  in red box and nothing . film come out black :( overexposed ? i don't think its possible i check light with light-meter  as always with different films.

i am using this light with collodion which is also not red sensitive and its working ok.

Maybe hc-110 its not good for x ray films as developer ?

before i was developing i R09 and have good results

film come out black :( overexposed ?

do you mean the negative came out black as in really dense, or the positive image came out black when inverted?

HC-110 is a fast and strong developer with plenty of hydroquinone and phenidone do developing shouldn't be a problem.

Try ID-11 and a proper darkroom red light. i dimmed my red light to the lowest setting and developed my sheets in a take away container in id-11, that way i could see when to stop developing. I think your red light must be fogging the film

I too would say to use a good safelight. Don't forget that the 4 feet minimum rule printed on the box is mostly there for paper which is very slow...

Commercial safelights have an opaque finish... something party lights don't have. If you can see the filament, you're definitely fogging!
