Topic: When Flickr Met Twitter

I was recently sent a link to a new online display platform which might be of interest to technophiles here.  And as the subject line suggests, it seems to incorporate a little of both Flick and Twit.

Not difficult to use, and clearly the software is still being expanded.  I suspect it could become very interesting so I've put a couple of collections up already.

Im killing my website due to financial constraints and going to use Tumblr. PDN had an article on it and from what I can see, it works well for photogs and you can even link easily to your Etsy account. And its free! Well, unless you buy a template but I like the free ones.

I like tumblr, I got a couple, but it's no replacement for a website.  Maybe you need a cheaper website solution?

Me too, I'm just about social media'd away.
I already dropped Facebook because of this, so no more online stuff for me.

Besides, it takes time away from my going out side and taking pictures time which is short enough.

I must be of a special breed: I never even remotely thought of opening a facebook or twitter account!

I have a Flickr with 1 image... and an Imageshack for some stuff that isn't jpeg...

i don't mind the stuff i already keep track of...this site, my blog, flickr and facebook (i don't get all in a huff about FB, it is what it is, and if you don't take it too seriously it is a great way to make connections), but i've maxed out with those. google+ takes too much work to figure out, myspace is a waste of space, etc.

im not paying some site for the privilege of storing images.

I have a fb and twit a/c havnt used them in weeks.

I just like the forums but im totally against having to

Flickr's how I keep track of my pictures...I can search tags and dates posted and that gives me some idea where they might be on my computer. I'm really happy to pay fifteen pounds a year for that.

But I have been wondering lately why I'm on Twitter so much and have been actively avoiding all the social networks for the last week..it's been nice :)

Well, the idea is not such a bad one. I think it's quite on line with now a days culture of immediateness; giving a snapshot of one's work. The news section is OK, but as others said I think that at the end it comes to as how many blogs, webs, you are willing or able to follow. In my case fimwasters does the work! I can follow exhibitions, books, new/old photographers from other members advice, and not being a snobby community I feel at ease being part of

Sorry but this has gone way over my head.  I struggle with Facebook and Twitter is totally beyond me so I've got no chance with this. 

Does having an on line presence really do us any good?

I've got a Flickr account but, next time they ask me for money, I'm deleting the whole lot and getting the hell out. The only thing that might keep me in is the FW group and a few really good 'togs but, as for the rest of it, it sucks big style......

I recently found out Im only paying 4.99 for my website. I remember paying over a hundred for something a year ago but I think it was for godaddy's premier website tool and I never used it so they gave me a break and gave me my regular website for a year at no charge.
