Apologies for the huge spew of photos from me this week.

^^ Handheld with the speedgraphic, far far too close to properly use the view finder too. heh. Neighbour left her kid's shoes to dry on the steps.

^ crummy self portrait, slightly underexposed.

and some pics from the distillery tour in June

And I went up the BT Tower a few weeks ago. This is the chapel in the former Middlesex Hospital ... the chapel is listed, the rest of the building wasn't so the rest of the building went... I thought it'd be built around by now but I guess the recession killed off the building project.

Phil - Love the depth on the second, anyone driving that car would be in beige trousers I'm sure !
Heather - The Self is lovely
Jeff - Where's that taken ?
Diane - That's soooo good

A few from the Trip loaded with Fuji colour C41, not something I usually like.  They are a bit hackneyed really but Havana takes a while to soak in as I was just walking around with my mouth open.  have lots on B&W to Dev, can't wait  ;D

While I was in chile I saw the students protest for free and better education at the public universities. Didn't really get the full scoop, but I hear that they are still on strike.

Chalky - the quadrophenia cycle is awesome!

Miles - the mural is in The Italian Market section of Philly.  The stiff is Frank Rizzo, a long dead police chief and Mayor of Philly, still looming over the place.  :-)

Another from the same street -

Lovely images this week. Great to see images from Chile and Cuba - both places I have visited and loved. Chile got a bit exciting [it was the 1980s] while I was there. Some locals took a pot-shot at Pinoche and sadly didn't finish the nasty git off. But there was a curfew, huge military presence on the streets of Santiago and this military parade. Dug out these snaps from that time.

One of the strongest starts to a week(end) thread for a while. Phil's shots are superb (as usual), Heather's cyanotypes are just stunning - I particularly like the shoes - wonderful shots of Cuba and Chile (Cuba is, hopefully, our destination for next year), Jeff's shop window is just gorgeous - "hollywood meat market" indeed - what could you mean....? Just a wonderful bunch......

Just one from me, for now. This is a conversion from colour (not much colour so it might as well be mono) taken on the F2S with Nikkor 20mm UD f3.5 (or maybe the 35mm f1.4, I can't remember) on a very sunny morning a week or so ago.

wonderful stuff everyone! Lino and Andrea - decades apart, but very similar scenes - excellent.

I feel this is a colour weekend this time round. Just to be contrary, I'll be posting some dull monos as soon as I get them developed/ scanned and titivated .

Ok, I am back!!!!   I have spent few weeks in Spain with Family and friends and now I am back in the Philippines. For those weeks in Spain I have been shooting with the expired Polaroid 108 (2000) with which I am having great surprises and with the Rollei. Just Friends and Family, no street shooting, I just do not want to get strange faces...    It´s great to be back in the Filmwasters which I feel like being between friends   Great shots everybody this week, I started to write and then I realized I was mentioning everybody!! Diane´s composition, LD classical look, Chile´s photojournalistic approach, Phil´s wagon, Chalky polas...

Three 108 polas from 2000, the batch many filmwasters bought. It reacts very differently to light conditions and exposure but all in all just great. I have tried to reproduce color with as much fidelity as possible.

Wasn't originally going to post anything but saw Miles Cuba pics and decided to contribute a couple from a visit to Havana in 2005.  Havana1 (artist making lithograph in a print shop in Havana) shot with CV Bessa R2, CV 35mm lens, Havana2 (street corner in Havana) CV Bessa L, CV 15mm lens.  Ektachrome.
Shot while in Havana on a workshop led by David Barbour (http://www.davidbarbour.com/).
One thing that struck about many of the images this week is how much is added by there being some sort of caption to put them in context.

Love those additional shots of Cuba, Dave. Looks like you were "Havana" really good time....sorry, couldn't resist.  ;D

Okay..........so, a few of us did a little stroll round a couple of short stretches of the Ridgeway (kindly organised by Peter Robinson) a month or so back. Well, at long last, I have the trannies back and I've just scanned them. These shots were taken on Fuji Provia 100 slide film using the Hasselblad 500c/m. Hope you like them.

So many great photos and great places - now I'm itching to go to Cuba, Texas, Philly, Cornwall and a Scottish distillery.....if only I hadn't spent so much money on polaroid film this month!

Most favourites so far are Miles' Havana shots, Chalky's polas, Jeff's street shots and Randy's dog.  Jeff - I assume the guy on the mural is the same Frank Rizzo that Gil Scott Heron mentions in his song about Nixon (H2Ogate Blues?)

A local Norfolk landscape from me - shot on the way home from work one afternoon shortly after a summer rain storm - Voigtlander Bessa R2M.  Still experimenting with Rollei Retro 80S and different developers - this time Rollei RLS slow speed developer.

Sorry folks. Coming in just under the wire here.  ;D Great stuff from everybody, as usual. And welcome back Carlos!!! Loving your shots!

Been busy with gum prints all weekend and thought I'd post my latest and favorites here.

First one was originally shot on Fuji Neopan 1600 and the second I shot just this weekend at the fair using my Spectra and that softone pola film I got at such a discount. Shot up 4 packs with the intention of making just about all of the shots into gum prints. Its a great film for it and its color so I get to do tricolors. YAY!!!

Hope everybody had an excellent weekend!

Salvo, fantastic matches. Specially like the last one!

Three from me, more from the holidays. Two with Polaroid and one with the Rollei. I went to shoot with some friends to a nearby forest. The model is an amateur theater actress. We were like 10 of us and everybody has 20 minutes with her. Of course I was the only one using analogue cameras... what a pity.

all great! brilliant.  The pic of the week so far for me is a tie between Erin's gum print portrait and calbisu's first shot  - both wonderful.

25x4 negs scans and a holga from my hols - a few more to develop.  It was a very wet 2 weeks with some very fast moving waterfalls to see.  The Roughting Linn pic is so deceptive - the water was thundering over it.  I;ve been there many times and never seen it so fast and heavy.  BUT, I only had some 100 speed film, and it is so dark down there that the 10 min exposure has lost all the drama sadly.  I'm kicking myself for leaving the box of hp5 at home :(

wow really strong thread! particularly a fan of Leons wonderful shots and Calbisu (those are RIGHT up my street, make me want to go back and completely reshoot a recent shoot with a friend ) Got lots of deving and scanning to do from my weekend away to the lakes but here are a couple of polas. First two are shot on my mamiya rb67 on fp100c gloss with the pola back, and the third is my new polaroid 100 with fp100c silk (courtesy of mike raso of the FPP, who kindly did a direct swap with me for my 320 :-) (they are all the short dated stuff from the 7dayshop)
