I too hope this is the right place to post this.

Not sure whats going on with instant film today but there are some great sales going on. TIP has a huge one going on. If you like Spectra Softone integral film, you can get it on TIP right now for 7 dollars a pack US, 6 EUR, if you buy 10 packs. Ive never seen this film so cheap. I got a 10 pack. And just when I said I wasnt going to buy any more film for a long time. GAH!!!

And the Chocolate, Sepia and Blue peel apart is going for 88 EUR, 99.99 US for 10 packs, mixed as you please.

I guess the sale is on for a little more than two days now.

Just (about) managed to kick the habit of buying old cameras and now all this film is on offer!

i took advantage of the sale and bought a quad pack of PX680 BOTTOM LINE
and a triple pack of PX70 Push - but the expiry date on the PX70 is 01/11 . . .

so the SALES seem to be for product that is out of date or has a production
flaw ?

yeah i think they just have tons of that pack film left and since it expired in 2009, they are looking to clear out the stock and move on before it goes bad and they lose money from it.

i grabbed some chocolate for myself. already have plenty of the soft tone image.

Hey Britt. TIP stands for The Impossible Project if thats what you meant. Or did you need to know where to go to buy the film?

I am worse than broke Francois. I am in debt up to my freaking eyeballs because of my passion for film. Instant film is really what's killing me. I knew starting a photography business was going to mean operating in the black for a while but I wasnt expecting it to be this bad because I wasnt expecting to fall in love with film.

I did check the TIP online shop before the weekend, but I didn't see the sale was on. I did see an INCREDIBLY ANNOYING AND ONE OF THE THINGS I HATE ABOUT TIP* counter flashing away, but didn't stay long enough to work out what it meant. The prices were reasonable for Type 100 film, but not super cheap so I moved on. Didn't get a chance to get back onto he site over the weekend unfortunately, so I may have missed it. I'd have been more than happy to buy cheap 100 film from TIP though if it was cheap enough, so I'm guessing I missed out on this big time. What were they selling 100 film for in the UK shop? Does anyone know?

The fact that the sales prices didn't show up till you added the film to your basked would have confused me though. Why did they do it like that? Did it confuse anyone else? I'm wondering, after Sean's comment, whether my initial visit was during the sale, but I just didn't realise that the prices would be reduced once you put the stuff in your basket.

7dayshop is still selling Fujifilm 100 series compatibles for £5.99 a pop though so, I'm happy enough to have bagged a few packs of that in the short term.

* OK, not one of the most elegant sentence constructions ever, but what are you going to do?

basically the sale was for qty of 5 or qty 10 packs in any "flavor" combination. So you could have choose 5 packs of choco, or any combination ie, 3 choco, 1blu, 1 sepia; 10pk 3 choco, 3 sepia, 4 blu. etc. It made sense to me that they only had the old prices, but the problem was they did not mention the multipack discounts on the item page, only on the newsletter and ticker. It sounds like you did visit the site during the sale.

Ditto what TK said Ed. If you saw the counter, then you probably visited the site during the sale. And the sale price not showing up confused me a great deal. I left the page and linked to it again from my email and the sale price still didnt show up so I decided to just add the right qty and see what happened.

The sale price for the US market for the type 100 film was 10 dollars and I think for the EUR it was another 2 or 3 dollars off. Something like that. But, you got the Fuji film at a great price so its all good!

yeah i found it confusing as well, and one of the TIP folks asked me for some ideas to make it more obvious, but by then they had already sold a couple thousand packs, so i guess it didn't hinder sales that much. but i know of a couple people who were waiting for the counter to end for the sale to start.

I gave up... Saw a stuck timer at 3333 or something and thought they don't need my money that badly if they make it so confusing... Plus, I thought if I opened an account it would be slippery slope thereon...

While I'm moaning, I was given a pack of that new color shade and it just jammed in my SX-70 constantly... No need to shade it if it doesn't release I guess... That has never happened in the past... Not the best way to introduce a six year old to the format when he just hears paper and gears crunching while I curse in Jamaican patois that he can't follow......

I sent the duds and the remainder back to their head office last week with a narked letter, they better ante-up or I'm a gonna be pi55ed.

Yeah, they needed that cash injection for R&D so they said... Never a truer statement...

I mean, come-on! So, they admit that their original films were hit and miss, and faded, etc, so to make up for it they charge you even more to make up for the problems! They could have just recommended you use silica packs to dry out the prints, but no, they make "Dry Age" technology (silica gel packs) to sort it all out. hilarious.
