Why I'm glad I use my Mamiya 645 Super often.
« on: July 12, 2011, 06:32:06 PM »
I was just featured on the Mamiya Blog. Check it out: http://blog.mamiya-usa.com/?p=1164. It was a surprise when it showed up, but I'm not complaining.  :)

Thanks!

I have 3 lenses currently for my Mamiya 645:
  • 55mm
  • 80mm
  • 150mm

I just bought a 105-210mm zoom lens from KEH, picking it up Thursday.

cool exactly what I use meself !  :)

all 58mm filters - handy !

i'd love to get a 110mm at some stage!

i love the mamiya 645 system, I have built mine up over
about 2 years, adding a bit here and a bit there!

anyway keep up the good work.

Thanks, Aoluain. I love my Mamiya 645 as well. However, my 80mm is the f1.9 version which uses 67mm filters. Luckily, that's the same size as a lens for another camera uses. Initially, I wasn't sure that I would like 6x4.5, being firmly entrenched in 6x6 for so long, but I've grown to really like it.

Ahhhh the 1.9 is a special lens indeed!

A friend of mine offered me a choice between the 80mm 2.8
or the 80mm 1.9, I tricked around with both for a while
but I opted for the 2.8 for the filter convienence and cost.

I just never shoot wide open, so its not a big issue that much for me
in that regard, but it is a really nice piece of glass with lovely bokeh.

. . . i wonder if he still has it . . .  ;D

Hi Otto.

Nice work and congratulations. I particularly like "encroaching"; excellent colour combo and textures. It reminds me of an old Fiat I used to own. I swear you could actually stand and watch the rust spots expand. In fact, I'm convinced it was only the rust that was holding the paint together...!!  ;D

Thanks! I think there were a few cars at this old car salvage yard that were in the same condition. :)
