Help this confused old man to understand the difference between the Fuji Color pack film 3.25x4.25 and 4x5. Are they two different size cartridges or what?

For the Colorpack II, you need the Fuji FP 8.5x10.8cm that comes in packs of 10.
In mine (ColorPack IV), I use FP-100B and haven't had any problem. After a lot of experimenting with it, I discovered that the dark/light button doesn't even need readjusting.

Hi Mart, I am not sure that any Polaroid cameras take the Fuji 4x5 film (waiting for Sean to wade in here), but they did make a film back that takes the film just fine (the 550). This can be used in more or less any LF camera.

there aren't any cameras built specifically to take 4x5 polaroid, so same goes for fuji 4x5! just backs for other cameras...

45 is a 4x5 film loaded into the proprietary fuji pa-45 holder that run around 210 + tax USD and can be had from freestyle and others.  It would be a good addition to your 4x5 gear.  The back (& subsequently the film) can be used in any LF camera back element that accepts a polaroid 545 or 545i back. Polaroid apparently made a pack film back for 4x5 film, but I'm unaware of the model number.  The Fuji 45 film does not work in standard pacK film land cameras or standard MF camera polaroid backs.

Is Fujiroid still being manufactured? I don't see it on the Fuji site, but B&H carries it (and isn't running any kind of notice that it's been discontinued).

Until a couple of months ago (when I came across an eBay listing that I thought was inaccurate) I wasn't aware that Polaroid had made 5x4 pack film either. Turns out they made quite a lot of different versions. This from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant_film#Packfilm):
