Starting a new thread here for the pix themselves. Here are my first attempts. Im finding that so far, this film has no issues with temp but it does seem to take a long time to develop all the way and its very sensitive to light. I love the color and the film looks good with a flash.

Both of these shots were taken with a One Step camera.

Looking forward to seeing other PX680 shots!

And I obviously have a problem putting an E in develop. LOL! Stupid habit of mine.

I agree with that, it takes a long time to fully develop, still needs shielding etc. but the colours are so improved on the older TIP films, and seems more stable too. the little white dots are an issue but they are aware of them and no doubt will be improved upon soon. will post mine when scanned...

He definitely has a mane Suzi. Somebody on Flickr suggested he might be a Maine Coon and he sure looks like one. Not only does he have mane around his head, but he also has all this really long fur growing out of his front leg pits. I would call them arm pits but he doesnt really have arms so it just didnt sound right.

received mine day before yesterday but have not shot any yet, still have some of the beta film left and will use that up on saturday then wack a pack in my sx-70. also guna save a pack for photographica. going on a rather equivocal facebook status by mijonju which simply read 'beta is better' I'm a little worried.

My biggest fear is that they have tried too hard to correct the colours rather than ridding the film of spots and increasing the light tightness of the blue layer on top.

I adored the colours of the beta, and hope if they change it then they still do an 'arty'/unevolved version.

These colors are pretty accurate, if a bit yellow, just like the picture of the cat. The picture of the flowers however are a bit more cross processed looking but there was a lot more color to capture. Maybe the problem is that if there isnt a lot of color in the shot, the cross processed look isnt so obvious? Not sure.

Here's mine, just happy it came out, had quite a long blue period where I thought there was nothing there!!!

Interested to know what people think of the new PX, personally I've only shot this one on the new colour stuff and I'm not overly fussed either way.

This film does take forever to develop and I wonder how long it has to be shielded from light, but the color in your shot looks pretty good even if it did take a while to develop. Funny thing is that Im just not seeing the wild color that I saw in all the beta film shots. So I like the color in this new version for its accuracy but I also wish they would still produce the film that looks cross processed and then give folks the choice of which one to buy, like Portra NC and VC I think they were? Not sure.

i am little dissappointed. I liked the colors of the beta too, but i cant get one of them.
I was happy to see the regular PX came out, but now i will wait, cause the changed colors. the first flush remember me to much to the PX 70... And i dont like the colors of the PX 70.

havent had the chance to shoot any of mine yet but from what I hear my fears have been realised, they are working too hard on trying to get realistic colours and have overlooked the fact that with the beta they discovered something quite awesome.

however TIP do pride themselves on listening to their customers so there no reason that if enough of us messaged them they would do another beta style film seperately

below are a couple of my first attempts. due to keen-ness to try them, and lack of time, they are just taken around the house. The washing line always seems to be used as part of camera/film tests! as well as obligtory girlfriend and dog pics

I have had a few shielding errors, that have ruined a few shots. I haven't managed to get it quite right yet, highlights seem to be getting blown out quite a lot. But overall, whilst I haven't managed to do as well as some others, I am enjoying the film. Bizarre that developing seems to take 24hrs plus, and coming from work the next day to see how they are looking... also had some problems with the snake skin effect, but not half as bad as others. The flickr group has been pretty critical of this film vs. the beta version, so be interesting to see what happens next!

all taken with (battered) sx-70 model 2 and nd filter on film pack.

Well, Im torn. I really like the color of those shots Chalky, and the burned out places. But, I also really liked the look of the beta film. I just hope they get it figured out so we can have our pick of either.

Do you have a link to the group discussion about the film?

Also, did you happen to check out the link to the portraits taken by EJ Camp? Amazing. They look doctored and I wonder if they are, but they are amazing no matter how they got that way.

ok I realise this isnt exactly a scientific test and they arent taken from exactly the same spot (there was a car in the way) and the light may have been different, however I do remember it being around the same. even if it was a little darker as the shot suggests I'm a little dissapointed at the snake skin effect you get in the dark areas, I have seen this on other people shots but hadn't yet experienced it myself til now.

I will shoot the rest of the pack at photographica at the weekend and give my full opinion.

your shots are really lovely, some of the best stuff Ive seen from the FF. still lacking in the crazy vibrant blues and greens found in the beta but none the less they are nice shots.

I didn't try the beta, but I did really like some of the shots I saw. I should imagine there will be another announcement soon from IP on the next developments...
