When returning from a business trip a month or two back, I stumbled upon a beautiful olde-worlde pottery the owner of which was holding a photographic exhibition in the gallery. Incidentally, the shots in the exhibition were mostly local landscapes - so what I'm about to post isn't plagiarising anything I saw.
When the owner saw I was interested in pottery, he gave me a guided tour around his kilns and workshop and allowed me to take a few snaps. I wish I'd had more time as the place was very dark and I didn't have my tripod and only had Velvia 100F loaded in my F1-N as I'd imagined I would be taking landscapes rather than still-life indoors.
Anyway, the film did not come out as hoped but, through the magic of Photoshop and Silver Efex Pro, I've managed to salvage a few of the better ones.
The moral of the story is, I suppose, to carry a wider variety of film and always have your tripod in the back of the car.
