Hello folks,
I just realised I've posted a few times but I should introduce myself.
I've done a bit of film shooting and I have an interest in antiques, which happens to include classic cameras (mostly pre WW2).
I'm usually home sick, so most days I'm sitting right here in front of a laptop, scouring ebay for the odd bargain and restoring stuff. At the moment, it's a Kodak Bantam Special - something I had my eyes on for some time. Managed to get a filthy, scrappy one on ebay, which has actually cleaned up really nicely. Next step is to get some film rolled for it.
I learned Photoshop from version 3.0 through to about when the CS versions started to appear and it really is my favourite bit of software, but ironically, I prefer printing my photos in a darkroom. I still have a bit of an aversion to scanning and posting them on the net, and some of my work was made from paper negs used to make photo postcards - they just weren't meant to be digitised.. I just like keeping them special
It's really nice to see people still using film and getting some great results. Personally, I don't think it can ever be replaced by digital technology, no matter how many megapixels you can get on a sensor.
Anyways, Hello!
Seth
