TIP Blackframe
« on: March 22, 2011, 07:23:26 PM »
Ok, I know Im asking for it, but since we were all bagging on the custom frame idea Impossible came up with, I thought it only right to post here that, in spite of my initial misgivings on the idea, I really, really love the look of the black frames.

I can see what you're saying it looks pretty good, but personally I think I'd still go old school with the white.

Black frames? No doubt at extra cost......

I will probably try a pack - not for the frames but to test the "crispy brilliancy" of this latest and overwhelming Silver Shade images.

Please, please TIP, make me eat humble pie....... ;)

I think this is a guy thing...
Polaroid frames are like underwear: some like color while others like whities  :P

Yet another pointless comment brought to you by yours truly  ;D

The frames are not the main point, the Film is better and its real black and white :)
its the opposite, in order to celebrate the new chemical and great sensitivity, the made it black, just like my previous post on leaks

Think it costs what all the new film costs, like 23.50 US.

LOL! Francois, I like your comments. Especially if you're talking about mens underwear.  ;D

Thanks for clearing that up for me Mijonju. The film is definitely gorgeous and the whole reason while I'll be buying more. For most submissions to contests and whatnot, I cut the frame out anyway, but since on your Leaks post we were all bagging pretty hard on the custom frames, I had to mention here that I like how the black ones look. A lot!

Or ... You could get a black indelible ink pen and colour in the White border.

LOL! I have lots of sharpies. Maybe I should!  ;D

Will do Mijonju! I have no spirit points myself and probably never will. So even though I will probably have enough pioneer points in the next 6 months to reach land level, I dont think I will ever get it because of the spirit points. I wish they hadnt added that part.  :P

So are these new frames a new chemistry for the PX600 UV+ film?  or is the same chemistry as before.  If it's the same I'll pass for now.  I like the PX6000 UV+ but my recent experiments I found the PX600 V06 to be much more predictable with less weird effects.

The one thing I hate about the UV+ films were that they were either perfect or had a weird developing inconsitency where one third of the image was significantly darker with a hard line seperating it from the rest of the image.  It looked a lot like one of the 3 chemical packs responded differently to the exposure.  Drove me nuts.

Oooh, suddenly I've come over all Lomo...or is it deja vu....or something?
 ;)

Sorry, Erin, but you probably guessed I'd be in here making a smark aleck comment once you and Michel started in on the spirit levels and whatnot.    ;D

LOL!!! No need to apologize Ed. Like I said, I knew I was asking for it.  ;D

Green, yeah, the PX600 UV+ does do that weird thing with lines and parts of the images being darker than the rest and while it didnt work for me all the time, it did work for the image in some cases. And it wasnt a problem with all the images in a pack either. Weird.

But, according to Mijonju, its new film. I didnt happen to catch that when looking at the newsletter but the site does say its the latest version of their film. I think I'll go back and look again.
