First Ilford darkroom paper in 13 years
« on: February 11, 2011, 09:27:54 AM »
Ilford have released a new fiber-based silver gelatin paper in conjunction with Hahnemühle, which is a good sign for a change. Apparently it will have a reduced wash times too.

Although I haven't had access to a darkroom for years, I'm interested in this and will have a look at any test examples they have at the "Focus" event at the NEC when I visit on 7th March. I'd love to get back into printing my own again and this looks like a beautiful medium.

The fact that Hahnemühle supplies the base is interesting, I seem to recall readingthat there are very few manufacturers of paper base for products like this and I didn't think Hahnemühle was one of them to date.  If so then this means there is another source of a critical raw material for film photography.
