questions about a local festival...
« on: December 20, 2006, 05:32:07 AM »
i am planning on attending a local festival in this new upcoming year and i have a question about how to go about asking my customers for their address.  when they enter my little 10' by 10' tent, whether they purchase a print or not, i would like to get to know them and have a little book out for them to right out their name and address so i could later mail out little postcards telling them of any future projects or prints that i may have available for them.

for some reason i think that it's a little too forward of me (asking for their address) to do this... does this make any sense or am i completely out of whack?

thanks in advance for any response...

A possibile idea might be that you could offer an option of leaving a mailing address or email address.
Then you could forward them an e-card if they don't seem comfortable leaving a physical address?

Just an idea.

I would use my Little Book to gather email addresses, clearly IDing it was for a mail out, 'If you want to receive updates about shows etc...'

You may find the 'risk' in doing this lower than a mailing address?
