I don't know if I qualify as a filmwaster, but I think in the fullness of time I will earn the title of paperwaster, hehe.  This is really fun, and there is so much to learn.

Thanks Leon, and yes I toned it in selenium just to see what would happen.  My wife said she liked the print but why is it now pink?  :-)

I think if the print has turned pink it means you haven't left it in the fix long enough and exposure to light has changed the colour.

Yea that was it, Leon.  The selenium smells bloody awful too, and is hardly worth it at this point as I'm not making prints to be framed.  I just want to know what to expect so I don't overdo it when the time comes for toning.

Congrats on you new darkroom setup, looks like you are off to a good start. Nice image btw. As far as the odor of selenium toner just make sure you have good ventilation, should be to hard since since the toning is done in the light. I find that generally my prints look better selenium toned, increased dmax, elimination of the slight olive tinge that some papers have, etc. I keep an untoned print in a tray of water so that I can gauge the amount of toning and not overdue it. Don't want the print to get to purple.
