Topic: American Friends ... Product Source Please?

Hi All

I hope you all had a seasonal season.

I had a pleasant surprise this morning - an email from someone (don't know him) in the States asking me about the dog picture of mine that is used on an Ilford paper box (Multigrade IV Resin Coat 250 sheet  8x10 - dont know what surface).  

I didn't know Harman-Ilford had used the picture, but knew that they might. There's nothing underhand at play here - they have a load of my prints to use at will and have already used one on 16x20 papers.

As far as I can tell, 250 sheet boxes aren't available here in the UK, so I am assuming it is a US only product.

I am asking a big favour of our US cousins who have access to good photo/ darkroom supply stores ... are you able to find a box and take a digital photo of it and email it to me?  I'd be eternally grateful if you could.

The picture is of my white greyhound-cross laying (sphinx like) on a dark sofa with a shallow DOF (focus on her eyes).

You might also ask over at APUG, if you haven't already. I bet David Goldfarb or someone in NYC could locate a box at B&H or maybe Adorama. It's usually the bigger mail order retailers that carry the 250 sheet boxes. I buy their warmtone in 8"x10" in that amount, but I rarely see boxes of 250 sheets in the smaller retailers around Boston.

Oh... and I have a box of 16x20 with your picture on it!!

I haven't seen it when I went to Hunt's last week but I did see the GIANT packet of APUG Ilford paper when I was there  Nice shop clerk asked if I needed help and I said no I was just admiring the packaging because I'm a member of APUG hehe

I'm heading over to Freestyle photo this week sometime. I'll try to remember tontake a look for you. I know they carry a bunch of the Ilford 250 packs.

Just did a quick search online and cant find it. Samys site says they're out of stock on it. I'll keep searching though.

Just made my bi-weekly trip to Freestyle photo in Hollywood, CA.  I was browsing the paper and miraculously remembered to look for your photo.  so here it is, sorry its so low res but I only had my iphone with me.

The picture of the cute dog jogged my memory.  Weird that an Ilford product is only available in a country where it isn't based or made?

I looked but couldnt find this in stock anywhere. Havent been to Freestyle yet though and Hollywood is the store I normally visit. Perhaps I'll get to see it next time Im there.

That's not surprising, I cant imagine there are a ton of folks out there who need that kind of volume these days.  I was tempted, but I'm sure the paper would go bad before i could use it all.
