Hi from South Africa
« on: November 09, 2010, 12:07:45 AM »
Hello everybody

I just thought I'd introduce myself.  I am Ricus, I live in South Africa.  errr I really don't know what else I can tell you (I'd tell you I shoot film but that will be stating the obvious) ???

O yeah (before the system bans me for no reason)  Thanks Leon &  Skorj for helping me out (or at least trying their best to) my first profile got banned (I swear I did nothing) and then disappeared.

see you around (unless the system boots me again)

welcome, film may be obvious but what camera, and what film is your preference.
Glad you found us, pull up a chair and make yourself comfy.

but what camera, and what film is your preference.:)

2nd try at introducing myself: (the 1st attempt was done in an almost zombie state at 2 AM)

Ok I Shoot mostly Rollei Films (retro 80s, pan 25 & Infrared 400) & sometimes Ilford (Hp5+ & Fp4+).
I shoot mostly 120 (6x6 & 6x7) with a little 135 now and then.  I don't shoot any color anymore (no good labs close by, just one that can handle only 135, c41, and give crappy results)

I am lucky enough have my own darkroom (I'll add some pictures to the thread related to that) so all the materials I process myself.

cameras:  for 135, I use a Ricoh KR10 super & a Pentax K1000
               for 120, I use a YashicaMat (Lumaxar 80mm f3.5), Bronica SQ-A & a Mamiya RB67 pro-s
I also have a Zeiss Ikon Nettar (518/2) but the shutter release won't work (shutter itself works but not the release button - it's stuck, pity really, since the rest of the camera is in pretty good nick)

I am on Flickr and also a few other forums

yeah that's about it for now.

glad you made it through the storm of signing up Ricus.

Welcome to the forum - looking forward to seeing some of your pictures.

Now you are here, you will only get "booted" if you dont adhere to the (rather loose) forum rules (se  here: http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=70.0)

I think I might be correct in saying you are our first forum member from South Africa. The 'wasters are making grounds in their bid for world-wide film-wastage.
