After 73 days over 30C we took a drive into the mountains, down a misty road:

The three of us set up to wait for the next train. Coming out of the cutting, I snapped some Type-665:


Running along the flat ArtsyKen used some FP-3000:



And The German used one of those computer thingies:

nice set skorj! I particalarly like the first and third. there's some nice sense of solemn exploring in them.

as you said, interesting to see each different individuals (and cameras) take on the same subject

What a great story! I love all the different images. I find it really fascinating because in class we were all just discussing the differences between color and black and white and why an artist would choose one over the other because of how it affects the viewer, but no discussion has been made yet on how a specific type of processing can affect the image. Seeing the different films and the digital all lined up like this, all taken in the same place with the same subject used, makes it pretty easy to see the differences between each process and the impact is immediate. Very cool! Thanks for sharing!!

Skorj, I love the first shot of the misty forest path and the 665 of the train. Tell Juergen that the computer thingy will never catch on. Whoever thinks that taking a photo with a computer is a good idea needs their head examining.

Ha! Thanks all. It was nice to be out in the country and watch the mists flow past. Here's a short movie that does a reasonable job on the feeling of train photography in the Japanese mountains:

They are a superb ! Did you use a roll-film thingy for the first two ?
There is a very tangible atmosphere is those two. Even the one who went directly to the scan without using a negative is quite nice.
