Gregor - Ooooooo that second one ... Very Nice ...

Thanks!  From an artistic perspective I like the high contrast.  This is for a documentary project so I should have used a different film or some filtration w/the fomapan...  Oh well, live & learn ;-)

Gregor I get lovely wide smooth tones with the foma, its my film of choice for 4x5 and I've used some 35mm and 120 too. I think your contrast problems are due to development.
Here is a Foma shot:
The 400 'action' in 120

The 100 classic in 35mm

Contrast is a function of exposure, development and agitation- I can get most films to be flat or contrasty.
There's more to this photography thing than meets the eye.

Thank you so much Thom
I'm sure you could take the same images. I love the way the Rollei works for me for portraits. I think the Rolleinar close up lens is a must though because close focus head shots aren't close enough for me without it.
Best £10 I ever spent!
Edit: in case you don't know what a Rolleinar is– here on my blog:

Thank you for your encouragement.
Regards
Mark
