OK, it's official; we ain't going to be getting the old images back from before the upgrade. I'm very, very sorry. If it's any consolation I can guarantee that it won't happen again (primarily because I've learned the hard way), but a lot of older forum posts are now looking as bald as I am.
We tried (and
major thanks to everyone for their help), but I've had to admit defeat on this one and can only apologies most sincerely for the loss of images from hundreds of older posts and suggest that, if there are images in old posts that you really care about, you return to them and re-post your original image.
As of 30 minutes ago all images in posts older than 14 days have been replaced with the text as the result of a clean-up activity that I ran:
[Sorry, image deleted during forum software upgrade. Please re-upload if so inclined.]The link to the original image is missing too (I couldn't preserve that I'm afraid).
What I will suggest is that you pay special attention to any posts on the
Articles board which feature uploaded images. The main forum is very much a movable feast and has never been treated as a place for images to be stored for posterity, but the Articles board is different and we'd like to get any missing images replaced ASAP. Thanks.
