Mamiya Universal versus 600SE
« on: February 18, 2010, 02:21:43 AM »
I'm not much of a plugger, but thought some might find my latest blog post useful...comparing the Mamiya Universal and the Polaroid 600SE.

Thanks for the article, its always nice to read about one of my favourite cameara's ( 600SE). Never thought about buying both ( Mamiya Universal and the Polaroid 600SE) but if/when i get the chance to put my hands on the filmback and adapter i think it will be mine.

Check it out I found a video on how to make your own ground glass for your SE or Universal using a empty Polaroid film cartridge and a clear CD case!

But; you cannot eat a Universal. But, the 600SE is delicious!

Sean, this is a great piece. I really enjoyed it - unfortunately it just heightened my sense of frustration at not being able to find a 75mm lens for my 600SE, on the plus side though, it did make me get it out and use it!

Thanks

There are a couple on ebay right now for around $400. That's the general going rate.

want wide?

Sean, that is VERY wide! Thanks for the heads up, I checked out ebay and you are right. I may have to talk to my financial advisor (she has other titles as well)  about one of those. You are right about the price, the odd occasion I have seen one it is always about the $400 mark.

Skorj, thanks for that - good price - was that an on line price or one  you just saw? Obviously one that someone might have seen physically is always an attractive option!

Thanks guys.
