Weekend Photos 26th-28th Feb 2010
« on: February 26, 2010, 12:51:08 PM »
Returned this week from Venice, another world and another time, an artistic paradise
20 odd rolls of film and a stack of polaprints from Holga, Hasselblad, Pantax Spotmatic, classic Diana, SX-70, Polaroid 250, Lomo LC-A

Just the polaroids so far.   I can't wait to get back and start developing.

Such beautiful work this week!  I especially like Vicky's presentations...mine from a Foldex 20 I found...this was a test shot to see if it actually would produce anything good..

Hi all. I have a few snaps from last weekend: well, they were taken at different times, but I finally got round to staining them last weekend anyway and then scanned them during the week. The usual combo: Land Cam 360 + expired Polacolor 125i film. Stained in coffee, cocoa and cider vinegar (or different combos thereof). I'm getting more confident with the process now; to the point where I have a good idea how it'll turn out at the point where I take the photo. I've never stuck at one process for so long before, so it's rewarding seeing things progress.

Vicky: hell yeah!
Tinm@n: Can't wait to see the rest. More transfers, please.

Its been a while since I posted, but as usual all of the work is just amazing!
Ed - the texture on that first one is amazing!
Vicky - that is a beautiful portrait and the two images work brilliantly as a diptych.
Tinman - All your shots are lush! The light is just fantastic!

These are just a couple from an old roll I got developed today.

Well to keep the Polaroid theme going, I was out titivating the garden earlier and notice the incinerator has started to crumble.

The newly resurrected Land Camera 320 was put into action...

Breaking with the Polaroid theme, I started taking funny signs and stuff this week... in order:
-It's so cold in Canada that even bus stops need a tuque.
-Every twit's favorite meeting place: twit palace. You won't see me going in there!
-Stay vigilant! I don't know if it applies to a Holga...

one of those small, tragic instances I sometimes encounter on a coastal walk. The weather was vile with a bitter wind coming in off the sea. Other gulls were very agitated, crying and swooping around above me. The beach is deep and shallow and it wasn't long before the tide came in and the bird was returned to the water.

Another wonderful weekend thread, some great stuff again. These are from one of the single use cameras I found in a cupboard. I opened this one up to find a roll of 800 ISO film which I developed in aculux for 15 mins. To give an idea of how old the film is - Beth is now 13 and Jake is 16!

Thanks again folks.  Venice is the perfect city for Polaroids.  I've plenty more to scan in yet including more transfer work.

Calibsu - the square ones are SX-70 integral film and the rectangular ones are Polaroid 250 Land Camera with peel-apart film

Really good stuff  guys...!

I ran a test film into my Leica IIIF which I used for the first time this weekend and just got the film processed. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong when scanning but the shots are very grainy.

The film is Kodak PX 125 processed with Rodinal @ 1:100 1 hour stand developing.

I spent the last 7 weeks in Portugal, without a camera.  (When I go back , later this month, I will bring my view camera.) My reentry into film photography is a roll of tri-x put through my Brownie Hawkeye with the lens reversed.  I made another attempt at stand development, using Rodinal.  The negatives are dense on one edge, again.  I must try another agitation method.  Here are two frames.  My assessment: blurry, uneven, messy and, maybe, a little bit interesting.

I will put the lens back the way it came from Kodak and try again.  This time I will use a little bit more agitation in the development.
