Holgaroid Close up
« on: February 06, 2010, 11:14:16 PM »
Here are some new images from my makeshift macro studio.  I don't think these are close enough to be considered true macro, but they are well within the 3 foot min distance of the normal Holga focus.  I've added a shot of the setup for demonstration purposes.
Also, I had a Holga flash about 22" outside the box on a light stand.

Thanks for posting the pics and the setup shot. Very interesting.

Close-up work with anything other than an SLR/ground glass setup is always going to be tricky in my view. If you want the Holga look you could always take the lens off one and stick it on the front of something like a Great Wall or any of the other cheaper (a relative term) 120 format SLRs...that way the composition is less of an unknown.

We're you using close-up filters in front of the Holga?

Yes i have a 46mm-52mm step up ring which allows me to use the tiffen close up filters  and others.  I have +1, +2, and +4 Diopters.
