First attempt at the Zero Image Pinhole camera
« on: February 03, 2010, 04:15:42 AM »
My lovely teacher, Aline Smithson, was gracious enough to let me borrow her Zero Image camera. The camera was already loaded with film, she took a few snaps sometime back but never finished the roll.  The film counter read 6 on the 6 x 4.5 window, so i knew i had a few frames to test it out before reloading.   I took it down to Santa Monica beach for a few snaps not knowing what film speed was in the camera.  I exposed the film as if it were 100 asa film and later discovered that 400asa film was loaded inside and the camera was actually set to 6x9 format, not 6x4.5, so I ended up overlapping exposures, giving an interesting multiple exposure.  Here are a couple of snaps from that series.  Not knowing about reciprocity failure, I never compensated for it.   I think this is why nothing was completely blown out.

Great mistakes! Love those multiple exposures... The second image is great.

I really miss my ZeroImage, would love to get my hands on another... my old friend had a spill down a rock ledge and no amount of gaffer's tape ever got him it back on its feet.  :-\

I'm always amazed at how sharp those Zero Image pinholes are.
