Drying Cabinet
« on: June 17, 2009, 07:37:31 PM »
I have managed to get hold of a drying cabinet (marrutt I think) and am trying to decide if its worth sacrificing the space to keep it, I currently use a converted locker that will dry negs overnight and has done me fine. I am tempted to put it on the bay but do these cabinets sell for much? if not, and I keep it does anyone know how long it usually take to get dry negs?

I know I probably would first try it out.
If it works better or faster (or if it works the same but is just nicer) than the one you got, I would upgrade without a doubt.

I think they don't go for much when they come up on ebay because they'll be collection only and items that are large and collection only tend to not go for very much. That's how I got my whole darkroom set up with colour 6x7 enlarger and three 20x24 trays (among many other things incl. safe lights, a bit of paper, etc) for ?100 but it was collection only from Hampstead (ooer posh).

I assume you mean using the dryer... but I get dry negs within 30 minutes 'without' using a dryer. I don't see the point of them.

You usually get the equipment in the best of shape from those posh neighborhoods...
Good find :)
